High flow rate linear slot ceiling diffuser with strong induction macro-jet discharge. Manually adjustable barrel nozzles through 180° for 1-to-2 way blow adjustability as well as adjustable horizontal through diagonal to vertical air pattern. Suitable for installation flush with ceiling or free-hanging.
Location – above: Integrated flush with a closed ceiling. Adjustable through 180° for 1-way blow to 2-way blow discharge patterns (horizontal to vertical). Minimum discharge height 3.5 m.
Mixed flow discharge: High induction alternating macro-jet discharge from adjustable barrel nozzles located in linear slots strongly mixes supply air with room air. Supply air diltuion with discharge velocity decay produces draught-free, high momentum supply air motion of uniform temperature distribution over short or long throws. Ideal for enhanced thermal comfort (ADPI ≥ 90%).
Return air: Also suitable for use as a return air inlet.
Dependent VAV throw: VAV throw dependent upon airflow rate. Minimum airflow dependent upon ∆Tsupply-room (eg turndown to 25% and ≈1 L/s/m2 @ ∆Tsupply-room ≈ -12 K).
Adjustable direction: Air pattern direction adjustment via rotation of individual barrel nozzles through 180° for 1 or 2 way blow, as well as horizontal through diagonal to vertical, air patterns. Horizontal discharge provides draught-free cooling; vertical discharge provides effective heating even from elevated discharge heights.
Manual adjustment: Air pattern adjustment is manual.
Linear face shape: Aluminium extrusions provide continuous linear aesthetic, with or without side and end flanges.
Slot face pattern: Barrel nozzles create linear slot appearance.
Plastic Face: Adjustable black or white plastic barrel nozzles.
Metal Face: Anodised or powder coated linear aluminium profiles |
Options
Plenums: Side-entry connection boxes with concealed diffuser fastenings. |

Function
The LTG High Flow Macrojet Linear Diffuser, type LDB 50 Maxx, is a high capacity linear slot diffuser incorporating a multitude of large barrel nozzle jets that produce high induction. Individual barrel adjustment through 180° provides air pattern adjustability from 1-way to 2-way blow and from horizontal through diagonal to vertical discharge direction.
The diffuser must be mounted in a ceiling. The diffuser’s 1 to 3 slots incorporate a multitude of large barrel nozzles with manually adjustable discharge direction adjustment to produce high induction discharge by breaking up the supply air stream into a multitude of high inductionjets. The barrel nozzles are made of polycarbonate, dyed black or white, and are located in aluminium extrusions that are anodised or powder coated.
Alternating multi-jet discharge creates high induction, providing many advantages. High aspiration causes intense strong mixing at the diffuser discharge face, diluting the supply air stream with large quantities of room air. High induction, additionally, strongly equalises the supply air stream temperature with room air, preventing cold air dumping. Strong supply-to-room air temperature equalisation also improves heating performance by preventing the supply air from being too bouyant. The high induction produces a strong increase in supply air stream mass flow rate, as well as rapid discharge velocity decay. At any given airflow rate, the LTG LDB 50 Maxx diffuser is suitable both for long throws (due to the supply air stream’s high momentum) as well as short throws (due to the supply air stream’s low velocity). High induction airflow is characterised by extremely uniform temperature distribution and exceptionally high levels of draught-free comfort in the occupancy space.
The LTG LDB 50 Maxx diffuser may be used in CAV systems as well as VAV systems that turn down to as low as 25% at ΔTsupply-room ≥ -12 K. Enhanced levels of draught-free comfort are achieved, in which the air diffusion performance index (ADPI) typically exceeds 90%.
